Temperatures in the 30's, snow on the ground, snowmen being built. It was a winter wonderland!
Today, just one week later, temps were in the 80's. Yes, you read that correctly, in the eighties. 8-0. 80. Short sleeves, shorts, sunscreen necessary. The weather was more like mid May than mid March. The weekend was just as beautiful, too. It was a perfect weekend to spend outside in the yard.
Ainsley and Daddy did just that--spent lots of time outside. They fertilized the yard, helped our neighbor with her flower bed, and just played. Both of them even got quite a bit of sun!
Unfortunately, Cadence and I didn't get to enjoy the weather as much. Cadence came down with a stomach virus Friday night/Saturday morning, so she spent most of the weekend laying on the couch or on the little aerobed watching TV. She took several catnaps throughout the weekend as well. Last night, (Sunday) Matt and I were getting concerned that Cadence was becoming dehydrated. Her tummy was (and still is at this moment) very out of sorts and she wasn't taking in much liquid. To be safe, we made a trip uptown to the children's ER so they could have a look at her. A neighborhood friend (thanks, Marla!) came over to sit with Ainsley so that Matt and I could both be with Cadence. The ER doctor did confirm that she was dehydrated, but we were able to convince her to drink some water and keep that in her so no IV was needed. We got home around 2:30 this morning. Today has been more of the same--tummy issues. :-( We have noticed today that she's beginning to show signs of perking up. She's talking and starting to get some "Cadence spunk" back. We're happy to see that!
This is a picture from how she spent the majority of yesterday:
