Snow Day Fun

Finally, after 3 straight days of rain, IT SNOWED!!!!

The rain started Friday morning. Except for a few breaks in the rain, it lasted until Sunday evening around 6:00. That's when the fun began. Snow was in the forecast and Matt and I had told the girls that snow was on it's way. We knew it was going to switch over to snow around dinner time, but explaining that to two eager little girls wasn't easy. They were asking us all day about the snow. I mean, ALL DAY! I think it's safe to say that all four of us were thrilled when the snow finally started falling.

The first few minutes of the snow were tiny fine little flakes but they quickly changed into the big, fat, fluffy ones. By the time we had finished dinner, there was already a covering on the ground so we headed out to play for a few minutes before bath and bedtime. Ainsley went to bed with her blinds open watching the snow continue to fall. She was amazed at how beautiful it was!

Monday morning, we headed out to play in the 4 inches that had fallen overnight. Some of our neighbors were out playing too, so we all went for a walk along the neighborhood nature trail. We found a good hill along the trail for sledding. Ainsley and Cadence both had a blast going down it. (Our last sledding experience was on ice in the mountains. This snow was totally different!) I'm not sure if they had more fun going down the hill or "crashing" at the bottom. :-)

Of course, we also built a snowman. (Well, Daddy and Ainsley built it. Cadence wanted hot chocolate, so she and I headed in to warm up!) Here's the finished product.

Now that the snow has almost all melted, I think it's safe to say that we are all ready for Spring. Bring on the warm weather!!!
