We've moved!

After spending 9 years in our previous home, we've moved. Realizing that we were going to need more space with the new baby on the way, we put our home on the market in early February. We received an offer over the 4th of July weekend and after some negotiations, we accepted the offer. Knowing that we wanted to build from scratch again (rather than buying a previously owned home) we started looking for our next home more seriously as our closing date neared. Now that we've closed on our old home, we're living temporarily in an apartment while our new home is under construction.

Is it ideal that we're in a smaller space with baby girl's arrival coming so soon? No. Is it a perfect situation? Not really. Is it working? Yes. Is it only temporary? Yes. Will the end result be worth it? Absolutely!

I'll try to remember to post updates about the house along the way. Today the first work crews are supposed to begin clearing trees. Clearing and grading should last a week or so. Footings should be poured the week after next. :)

News

Our little family is growing! We are expecting a baby girl to arrive in just a few months. She's due to arrive on September 18th. Ainsley and Cadence are very excited and can't wait to meet their new baby sister!

Lots to catch up on...

Well, it's been a while it seems...

We've been doing all sorts of things since Christmas. Mostly though, we've been getting the house organized, de-cluttered, and cleaned in order to get it ready to sell. It is currently on the market and has been for just about a month. We've had 2 showings so far. We realize this could take a while, but can't help but hope for a quick sell. :) We are going to miss our old neighborhood and our neighborhood friends, it will be nice for Matt to have a space dedicated as "his office."

Speaking of Matt, he's been working from home full time now for over a year. He stays busy with calls, but it is nice having him here. Travel comes up time to time, but thankfully it's a few days here and there. Softball season will be starting up soon. With the warmer temps coming that also means more golfing for him. He's a happy camper. ;-)

Ainsley and Cadence are doing well in school. Both girls love their teachers and love seeing their friends. Cadence and I go visit Ainsley at Kindergarten every now and then. Cadence will be a pro when she starts, we're sure. Dance recitals will be coming up before we know it. They dance at different studios this year, so we'll be having double recitals. Thank goodness that they are on different weekends!

That's all for now. More news will come later.

The Nutcracker

Nana, Sara, and I took the girls uptown to the theatre last weekend to see The Nutcracker. We had lots of fun getting all dressed up. Here are some pictures. Of course, their American Girl dolls had to get dressed up too. :)

Not the Christmas Card...

Here are some Christmas card pictures that didn't quite make the cut.
