The Nutcracker

Nana, Sara, and I took the girls uptown to the theatre last weekend to see The Nutcracker. We had lots of fun getting all dressed up. Here are some pictures. Of course, their American Girl dolls had to get dressed up too. :)

Not the Christmas Card...

Here are some Christmas card pictures that didn't quite make the cut.

Lake Fun

Some friends invited us over to their lake house for a cook out and some fun on the lake. The girls were a little cautious about swimming in the lake at first, but that changed pretty quickly!

Ainsley was a fan of the big water slide. Cadence liked hanging out by the lake. :)

Matt even took the girls on a jetski ride!

Father's Day 2010

Matt had a great Father's Day this year. We spent the afternoon at the pool. He picked meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans for his dinner. That also happens to be one of Ainsley's favorite meals as well!

May

It's been another busy month. We've had something planned for every weekend. Here's a quick summary of what we've been up to.

Matt and I spent the first weekend watching golf at the Quail Hollow tournament here in Charlotte. No pictures from that!

The second weekend was "recital weekend." Ainsley and Cadence were both enrolled in dance (tap & ballet) this year. It was so much fun watching the girls dance on stage. Thank You to everyone (and there were a lot!) who came to watch. After the recital, we took the girls out to dinner. We ate at P.F. Chang's--a place that has become a favorite of theirs.

Next up was "Graduation Weekend." Sara (Matt's sister) graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a degree in Elementary Education. Congratulations, Sara!

The fourth weekend, we took a quick visit to the beach. We stayed at the Oak Island house. The weather was wonderful and even though the water was a little chilly, that didn't stop the girls from playing in it!

And now we're all caught up to this weekend. We've had a fairly quiet Saturday, spending some time at the pool earlier today. Tomorrow, we're hanging out with some friends and I'm sure we'll have a fantastic time. :-)

Bicycle Girls

With the weather warming up, the girls have been outside quite a bit lately. Their new thing? Riding their bikes. (Notice Ainsley's bike is missing a former key piece of hardware!)

Disney!

Like many families with kids, we made the "pilgrimage" to Disney World last month. We had a fantastic time even though the weather was a tad bit chillier than what Florida is used to. Thanks to Nana and Pap-paw for making the trip with us!

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the week:

The Family

Meeting Ariel

Cadence and Nana on Dumbo--Cadence's favorite ride!

Cadence hid under the table for our first character meal. Minnie Mouse came by and got her to come out!

Can we just go to breakfast now?

We had breakfast with the princesses in the castle.

Cinderella and her "Cinderella's in training."

Belle

A Tea Party in Minnie's house.

Ainsley's face pretty much says it all here.

Drew Brees came to Disney World!

My Bibbidi Boppidi princesses.

Ainsley's favorite ride--Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
